Rising Phoenix
Tinley Park, Illinois

Every ending here
is a first act.

Rising Phoenix Theater Company stages bold, community-built theater in the south suburbs — new work, reimagined classics, and a stage where local performers get their real shot.

EST. 2024 — SOUTH SUBURBAN CHICAGO

Started in a rented rec hall. Built to outgrow it.

Rising Phoenix formed when Sarah Kelley, a Tinley Park actor tired of driving into the city for a decent stage, decided to build one at home. The first rehearsal was in a church basement. The first show sold out two nights before it opened.

We're not interested in polished imitation of bigger houses. We pick scripts that say something to this specific corner of Illinois, cast wide, pay our artists, and treat every production like it has to earn its audience back — because it does.
